Is This the Right Fit?

We are not the right partner for every business -and that’s intentional.

We are not the lowest-cost capital – and we’re not trying to be. Traditional banks and SBA financing will almost always offer lower rates, and in many cases, those options should be explored first.

Where we fit is in the gap between bank financing and private equity. Banks tend to be rigid – requiring personal guarantees, strict covenants, and ongoing reporting that can limit flexibility. Private equity often requires giving up ownership or control. We sit in between.

Our approach is to provide flexible capital without taking control of the business. We structure investments to protect our capital, but we aim to do so in a way that is practical and operator-friendly – balancing accountability with the realities of running and growing a business.

We are typically a strong fit when an operator:

  • Has a proven business and needs capital to grow, expand, or move quickly on an opportunity
  • Wants to maintain control and avoid unnecessary dilution
  • Has limited flexibility with traditional lenders or has already maximized those relationships
  • Values a partner who can provide both capital and thoughtful, real-world perspective


We also offer strategic and operational support where it’s helpful. For the right partners, we can provide input based on firsthand experience building and scaling businesses as well as access to our network to propel your business forward.

We may not be the right fit if the primary goal is simply to secure the lowest interest rate, or if the business is very early without a clear path to execution and repayment.

At the end of the day, we try to be straightforward. If there’s a fit, we move quickly and work collaboratively. If not, we’ll be transparent about that upfront.
